Gilbert Percy Evans

Ruffin – Gilbert Percy Evans, 77, of 1030 Perkinson Road, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Dwain Hill and Pastor Bruce McBride officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. Gilbert was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Virginia Evans and was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Young Evans of the residence; three daughters, Wetona Billings, Romona Harbour and husband Eddie and Lisa Evans, all of Ruffin; grandchildren, Michelle Billings, Brian Harbour, Ashley Billings, Sydney Evans and Jerry Wayne Harbour; special friend, Neil Burnette and special cousins, Lewis Overby, Fred Overby and numerous others. The family will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
