Giles Haywood French

Reidsville- Giles “Bill”Haywood French, 95, of 2101 South Scales Street Apt. 12 A, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Strader and Rev. Beverly Gaska officiating. The family will see friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home of Nancy Gordon, 1910 South Park Drive. Mr. French was born in Rockingham County to the late Giles Harrison French and Mary Ella Nuckols. He was a farmer and a retiree of the City of Reidsville and was a lifelong member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Craig French and 7 siblings. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. McInnis and staff, Hospice of Rockingham County and Ted Mabe and Beverly Harrison for the care given to Mr. French.
