Reidsville – Gladys Jeanette McLain, 77, passed away Tuesday, April
1, 2008 at Greensboro
Living Center.
A graveside service will be held
at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 4, 2008 at Greenview
Cemetery with Rev. Bland
Leebrick officiating.
Mrs. McLain was born on January
31, 1931 to the late Arthur and Daisy Calhoon Sartin. She was of the Baptist
faith and attended Althmahaw Baptist church. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed
gardening, bluegrass music, cleaning and yellow roses. Some of her favorite things in life were the
song “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and the horror movie “Friday 13th”. .
Along with her parents, she was
preceded in death by her brother, Howard Sartin.
Gladys is survived by her son,
Ray McLain of Greensboro; daughters, Barbara Mayer of Reidsville, Kathy
Barfield of Brown Summit and Brenda Freeman of Burlington; seven grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman Sartin and James E. Sartin, and
sister, Vallie Mae Gibson
The family will receive friends Thursday,
April 3 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the
home of daughter, Barbara Mayer, 710
Briarwood Street, Reidsville.
