Glenn Thomas Busick, 85, passed away into the presence of his Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Dave Johnson and Rev. C. Allen Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Apple’s Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from Noon till 2:00 PM prior to the service at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church; other times at the home. Glenn was born in Guilford County on December 22, 1930 to the late Joyce and Lillie Cook Busick. He was the owner and operator of Flavo Flour and Feed Mill for over 30 years. Glenn was also employed by Cone Mills for 10 years. He was married to his high-school sweetheart, Betty for 65 years. He loved farming, fishing, hunting and was an avid Tar Heel and Atlanta Brave fan. He was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and served on the Deacon and Trustee and Usher Boards and sang in the Men’s Chorus. He was also a long-time member of the Helping Hands Sunday School class. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army for two years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Leon Wagoner, Paul Wagoner, Doc Wagoner and wife, Dot, Charles Wagoner and wife, Sarah, and Don Huffines; and sister-in-law Lillian Jones and husband, Ernest. He is survived by his wife, Betty Wagoner Busick of the home; brothers: Joyce “Junior” Busick and wife, Shirley of Brown Summit, James Busick and wife, Betty of Reidsville; sister, Regina Rumley of Brown Summit; sisters-in-law, Shirley W. Huffines and fiancé, Roger Baldwin of Brown Summit, Mildred Wagoner of Daytona Beach, Fl. and Frances Wagoner of Brown Summit; and numerous uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, 7345 NC 61 North, Gibsonville, NC 27249 and/or Hospice of Guilford County, 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405. The family would like to express a special thanks to care givers from Always Best Care, First Choice and Hospice of Guilford County, along with neighbors and family.
