Glenn Henry Evans

Reidsville – Glenn Henry Evans, 87, of Mableton, GA and formerly of Reidsville, died Sunday, July 26, 2009. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 29, at 2:00 PM in Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Michelle Chappell officiating. Mr. Evans was born in Reidsville to the late Walter and Della Warf Evans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and retired from Globe Union Battery Company in Georgia. He was an avid baseball fan and once played semi-professionally. He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas L. Evans, Frank Evans; sister, Catherine Stanton.He is survived by his wife, Anne Wall Evans of the residence; son, Ronnie Evans and daughter, Lori Evans, both of Mableton, GA; sister, Chestine Coleman of Reidsville; brothers-in-law, Tommy Moore and Ed Stanton of Reidsville; sister-in-law, Bobbie Evans of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews. The family received friends at White Columns chapel in Mableton on Monday from 5-8 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Chestine Coleman, 1575 McCoy Road in Reidsville.
