Reidsville - Gloria "Jackie" Hawkins Halbrook, 88, of 2932 Vance Street Extension, died on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wendell Edwards and Elder David Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.Mrs. Halbrook was born on January 12, 1924 in Rockingham County to the late, Alfred Hawkins and Thelma Hawkins Smith. She retired from Chase Bag as Supervisor after 35 years . Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Halbrook; sister, Ella Mae Glaspie; brothers, Ken, A.B., and Millard Hawkins.She is survived by her children, JoAnn Moody and husband, Elton (Georgia), Nancy Crouch and husband, Paul "Joe" of Reidsville; grandchildren, Paul "Eddie" Crouch and wife, Tammie of Eden, Tonya Crouch and husband, Philip of Brown Summit, Kim Ben Guina of Canada, Chris Parks, Spencer Parks and Shawn Parks and wife, Lindsay of Georgia; a brother, Douglas Hawkins of Reidsville and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.The family wishes to thank her best friends Sandra Inman, Ruby Hodge, Bonnie Thacker, Cindy Whitley and Nola and Howard Halbrook.Memorial Contributions may be made to Rockingham County Hospice Home, P.O.
