Gracie Comer Lasley

Reidsville: Gracie Comer Lasley, 93, of Carolina House and formerly of 1460 Sandy Cross Road, passed away on July 3, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.Gracie was born in Rockingham County to the late Jess and Zillie Sharpe Comer. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her flowers, gardening and quilting. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the VFW ladies auxiliary. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Lasley; son, David Wayne Lasley; grandson, Gregory Wayne Lasley; brothers, Clarence, Shelton, Paul, Charlie, Lenius, John Henry, Tom and Jesse Comer; sisters, Ruby Brown and Hilda Allen. Survivors include her children, Brenda Small and husband, Gene of Summerfield, Sandy Garrison and husband, Jerry of Penhook, Va., Gary Lasley of Reidsville and Glenda Medford and husband, Whitey of Waynesville; grandchildren, Cindy Moore and husband, Blake, Cheryl Small, Mike Lasley, Kevin Lasley and wife, Jessica, Taylor Medford and Travis Medford; great grandchildren, Greg Lasley, Jr. and Brooke Hyler; brother, Jack Comer of Ridgeway, Va. and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Carolina House for the love and care shown to Gracie.The family will be at the home, 1460 Sandy Cross Road.Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 7860 NC Hwy 87, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320 or a charity of donor's choice.
