Reidsville: Hal Drew Wilson, 70, of 818 Walker Street, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 11:00 A.M., at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will see friends on Monday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
Hal was born in Rockingham County to the late Edward and Rosa Lee Allen Wilson and was a retiree of Burlington Industries. He was a faithful and founding member of Covington Wesleyan Church serving in many capacities through the years including digging the footing for the new church building. Hal was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Felt, James, Earl, Glenn and Junior Wilson; sister, Libby Richardson and great grandson, Sebastian Ragan and mother and father in-law, Ruth and Jack Echols.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Hazel Echols Wilson; son, Stephen Wilson and wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson and Amanda Guffey, Samantha Wilson, Jackie Chaney, Wesley Wilson and Dillon Chaney and Kristen Martin; great grandchildren, T.J. Patterson, Jayden Wilson and Shawna Moore; sister, Ollie Paschal; in-laws, Donnie Echols, Jimmy Echols and wife, Jennifer, David Echols and wife, Dolly, Joseph Echols and wife, Ruby and Sandra Manley and husband, Benny.
