Harold Holland Evans

Reidsville, NC – Harold Holland Evans, 81, of Reidsville, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 29, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Brown and Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. The burial will follow in Happy Home Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. Evans was born in Rockingham County to the late Floyd and Edna Lipford Evans. He was a veteran in the US Army serving during WWII. He was a farmer and also retired from the US Postal Service serving as a rural letter carrier. He was a faithful member of Happy Home Congregational Christian Church where he served as Deacon and Trustee of the church. He was also a former member of the choir. Survivors include his wife, Irene McCollum Evans of the home; son, Gary Evans and wife, Deborah of Reidsville; grandsons, Patrick Evans and wife, Anna and Dustin Evans; great granddaughter, Jennie Evans; brother, Donald Evans and wife, Geraldine of Reidsville; sister, Viola Parrish of Gainesville, GA and several nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
