Harold Howard Somers

Reidsville - Harold Howard Somers, 68, of 1710 Gibbs Road died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Rockingham County Hospice Home following a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the home on 1710 Gibbs Road with Rev. Wayne Kennon officiating. Interment will follow at a later time.Mr. Somers was born on March 2, 1943 to the late George Andrew Somers and Molly Sue Mays Somers. He was the owner and operator of Harold Somers Construction for 30 years, until he became disabled. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Edward Somers and son, Donald Lee McGehee, II.Harold is survived by his loving wife, Gail Beth Somers; son, Harold Andrew Somers (Andy); daughter, Kimberly Ann Somers Williams (Kim); adored granddaughter, Kaylie Kayona Hodge; loving sisters, Polly Durham and husband, Elsworth of Reidsville, Marie Stone of Eden, Carol Gregg and husband, Terry of Reidsville, Debbie Roberts and husband, Sam of Axton, VA; brothers, Ray Somers of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ronnie Somers of Walnut Cove; step-daughter-in-law, Jessica McGehee; step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Smith and Brittney Patterson; sister-in-law, Dean Vernon and husband, Phil of Lakeland, FL; mother-in-law, Flossie M. Seay; brother-in-law, Willie Seay of Reidsville, and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home on 1710 Gibbs Road.
