Harry Wine

Reidsville- Mr. Harry Wine, 87, of Reidsville passed away on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at his home. Mr. Wine was born on July 7th, 1926 in Danville, Virginia to the late Jake and Annie Phelps Wine. Mr. Wine was a World War II veteran and a retiree of Sparks Oil Company. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where he had served as usher, chairman of the trustees, and a member of the administrative council. He also was a member of American Legion #79 for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lorene Whicker Wine and brothers, Raymond and Bernard Wine. He is survived by his son, Donald Lee Wine and wife Joyce of Reidsville; grandchildren: Jennifer Fausel and husband Jason of Ruffin, NC; Heather Brady and husband Josh of High Point; sisters: Sadie Spencer, Lula Davis and Frances Meeks and husband, Charles; brother-in-law: Kenneth Whicker and sisters-in-law: Virginia French and Virginia Wine; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at two o’clock at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Lambert, Rev. Samuel Whicker and Rev. Beverly Gaska officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites at the graveside. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O.
