Reidsville – Hattie “Pat” Walker Stanfield, 97, of 3561 NC Hwy 87 died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hester officiating. The burial will follow in Lowes United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Stanfield was the daughter of the late John and Effie “Walker” Walker. She was a homemaker and a longtime, faithful member of Community Baptist Church. One of the highlights of her youth was the trip she made to the World Fair in Chicago during the 1930’s. She loved life especially cooking and tending flowers. In their latter years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben, four brothers and three sisters and a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Stanfield. Mrs. Stanfield is survived by her sons, Jerry Stanfield and wife, Rosilee of Reidsville; Charles Stanfield and wife, Pat of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Vicki McKinney and husband, Billy, Mark Stanfield, Steve Stanfield and wife, Maria and Megan Ragan and husband, Joe; great grandchildren, Leigh and Ben McKinney and Lauren Ragan; great-great grandson, Liam McKinney and a large extended family. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 13 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at her residence. Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church or school, 509 Triangle Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
