Hazel Louise Smith McCann

Hazel Louise Smith McCann, 78, of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital. There will be a private burial with a memorial service at a later date. Hazel was born in Rockingham to the late Robert Elwood Smith and Alma Meador Hines Smith. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping, Christmas movies and her beloved cats, Garfield and Nermal. Most of all she loved her family; especially her grandson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Ray Newton McCann. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Tammy Renae McCann Murphy and husband, E.J.; grandson, Matthew Donovan Murphy; sister, Jeanine Smith Fulp and a loving group of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the United Way of Rockingham County at 1520 South Scales Street Reidsville, NC 27320.
