Hazel Boyd Mitchell

Pelham, NC - Hazel "Deanie" Boyd Mitchell, 74, of 7857 Old Highway 29, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Belle Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Strader, Ryan Strader, Wayne Boyd, Robert Hawker, Jason Apple and Charles Gibson.Deanie was born in Danville, Virginia to the late Charlie and Eliza Rakes Boyd and was the owner of Boyd's Store. She had a love for antiques and enjoyed hosting Christmas dinners at her cabins which made the cover of Country Living Magazine several times. She was also honored with 3 Mel Steele trilogies of those cabins. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mitchell and brothers, Adrian and Ottie Boyd.Survivors include her daughter, Renee' Hieronymus; son, Michael Mitchell and brother, Archie Boyd.The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
