Hazel Cobb Walker, 94, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
A Graveside Service will be conducted by her great-nephew Donald Apple at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the service and other times at the home.
Hazel was born in Caswell County to the late Julius Mills Cobb and Laura Somers Cobb. Her family was the most important thing to her. She loved cooking for her family on Sundays and holidays, woodworking, crochet and had a green thumb. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves and playing cards with her family. She also enjoyed fishing and taking care of her cat J.J.. When she was able, she attended Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Walker; daughter Kaye Cobb; granddaughter, Amy Cobb; sisters; Margaret Cobb, Nannie Page, Edna Willett, Warnell Tatum, twin brother Haywood Cobb and son-in-law Tommy Perkins.
Hazel is survived by her daughter Glenda Perkins; grandchildren, Holly Cobb, Steve Perkins and wife Teresa, Charles Perkins and wife Tiffany, David Perkins and wife Amanda, Brian Perkins and wife Stacey; great-grandchildren, Gauge Cox, Joshua Neighbors, Dakota Barnes and wife Summer, Jesse Barnes, Jenna and Joey Perkins; Jake Perkins; Tucker and Trey Perkins; great great-grandchildren: Sadie and Axton Barnes.
The family is grateful to Jacob's Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their loving care during her illness. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, Inc, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
