Reidsville: Helen McLean DeLancey, 99, passed away at Avante Nursing Facility on Monday, July 14, 2014.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Greg Robertson officiating.
Mrs. DeLancey was born in Darlington, South Carolina to the late John and Maggie McLean. Helen retired from J. C. Penney in Reidsville. She was a faithful servant at Calvary Baptist Church, where she was member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and past president of the WMU. Helen was loved by her family and a very close circle of friends. She was known for her great cooking, her gardening and her impeccable sense of fashion. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, a daughter, Betty Drew Craddock, a son, Harold Wayne DeLancey, brothers, Drew and John McLean, and a granddaughter, Deborah Craddock Knight.
She is survived by her son, Raymond “Buddy” DeLancey, Jr; grandchildren: Steven Craddock and wife Dawn, Mitzi DeLancey Vernon and husband Mike, Tammy DeLancey Baynes, Wayne DeLancey, Jr; and seven great grandchildren.
