Helen Gertrude East French

Reidsville: Helen Gertrude East French, 91, of 142 Guerrant Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2013 at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Darrow and Rev. Hubert Inman officiating. Mrs. French was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late Glen and Lou Berta East. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Elmer French; her grandson, Mark French and her daughter-in-law, Hilda Denny French. She is survived by her sons, Wayne French of Eden, Larry Glen French and wife, Peggy of Reidsville, Danny French and wife, Nancy of Ruffin, Gary French of Pelham and Randy French of King, NC; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sister, Lorene Martin and husband Ray of Danville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
