Helen Walker Rumley

Reidsville – Helen Walker Rumley, 90, of Carolina House of Reidsville, NC, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Annie Penn Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, April 15, 2013 at Reidlawn Cemetery, with her nephew, Elder David Underwood officiating. A native of Reidsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Edward “Ed” Walker and Mary “Molly” Apple Walker. She was a retired employee of American Tobacco Company and enjoyed fishing, crocheting, going to the coast and watching snow fall. Helen was preceded in death by brothers, Rowe, Sydney, Warren, Oren and Houston Walker; sisters, Mary Bennett, Ruby Saunders, Bertha Allen, Lela Wright, and Huldah Underwood. Survivors include: husband, Thomas Rumley of the home, Ethel Walker and Sarah Walker, sisters-in-law, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Bayada Home Health Care, especially, Carla, who stayed with them so long she became like family, Pat, Brenda, and Debbie, who also stayed with her at Carolina House and also became like family, and Hospice of Rockingham County. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Steve Luking and staff for their constant care and devotion to both Helen and Tom.
