Henry Ross Gibson

Pelham: Henry Ross Gibson., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Funeral services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 2 PM on Friday, March 29, 2019. Pastor Timothy Anderson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Thursday, March 28th, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at the home. Ross was born on May 10, 1935 in Rockingham County to the late Henry Burton Gibson and Olene Gammon Gibson. He retired from Dan River Mills after 45 years of service. He loved fishing and the Atlanta Braves but most of all he loved his wife and family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Loise Ann Barker Gibson; Children, Faye Brande, Margaret Boaz, Penny Echols (Tim) and Arlene Haymore; step children, Jeffrey Grubbs (Liz), Angela Tickle (Jay Murphy) and Sheila Smithers (Larry) along with 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sheldon Baptist Church at 2486 Old U.S Hwy 29, Pelham, NC 27311
