Henry Grady Gwynn

Reidsville – Henry Grady Gwynn, 85, of Carolina House of Reidsville and formerly of 3000 Vance Street Ext., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Dehart officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Gwynn was born in Rockingham County to the late Sidney and Sallie Shreves Gwynn. He was a retiree of the American Tobacco Company and a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Lizzie Gwynn; brother, Jesse Gwynn and sister, Ruth Gwynn Hawkins. Survivors include his 5 loving daughters, Janice Deal and husband, Lenny, Kay Alverson and husband, Houston, BonnieThacker and husband, Randy, Sheila Gwynn and Renee’ Toney and husband, Craig; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; sisters Doris Watkins and husband, Frank, Thelma Talley and Grace Ross; brother Joe Gwynn and wife, JoAnn and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Carolina House of Reidsville and also a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Home of Rockingham County for the care given to Mr. Gwynn and his girls.
