Stokesdale- H. Wade Wilson, 73, of 8405 Hwy. 65, died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Brown Summit Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Shawn Corum, Aaron Isley, Justin Isley, Shane Sawyer, Brandon Wilson and Eric McCollum. Honorary Pallbearers are Clay Barham, Wayne Barham, Blake Wilson and James Kellam. Wade was born in Rockingham County, NC, to the late W. Pink Wilson and Ila Barham Wilson. He was a member of Brown Summit Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and feeding birds. He was retired from Cone Mills, White Oak Plant, after 25 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Albert; his brothers Paul Wilson and Thomas “Buzz” Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Betty Shelton Wilson, of the home; his son, Anthony W. Wilson; daughters Diane Maness and husband, Curtis, Terry Isley and husband, Darrell, Dana Sawyer and husband, Carroll; sister, Carol Rumley and husband, Fred; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27 from 6-8 PM at Brown Summit Baptist Church and other times at the residence. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to their father by the third floor nurses at Annie Penn Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, North Carolina 27375.
