Hobert Melvin Harrison

Reidsville- Hobert Melvin Harrison, 91, of Penn Nursing Center, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Annie Penn Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Melvin was born in Rockingham County to the late William Herbert and Zena Strader Harrison and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a retiree of the City of Reidsville and a member of Community Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Harrison; brother, Burke Harrison and sisters, Lorene London and Irene Wright. Survivors include his son, Russell Harrison; daughters, Anne Carico and husband, Dicky and Zena Jessie and husband, John; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Jack Harrison and Robert Harrison and wife Meryle. At other times the family will be at the home of his daughter, Zena Jessie, 811 Barnes Street. The family wishes to thank the staff of Penn Nursing Center for the love and care shown to Mr. Harrison during his stay there.
