Imogene "Jean" Johnson Sutton

Imogene “Jean” Johnson Sutton, 87, went home to be with her Lord peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Annie Penn Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of her life and graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Gunner officiating. There will be no formal viewing or visitation but the family will receive friends at other times at the home of Kathy Sutton 318 East Harris Place, Apt. 318 C, Eden, NC 27288.

Jean was born in Guilford County to the late Charlie and Ida Johnson. She was a Charter member at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Greensboro and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greensboro. She was sincere about her relationship with The Lord and it was evident by her loving, considerate and gentle personality. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after many years of service. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Sutton; son Randy Sutton; daughter, Tina Sutton; grandchildren, Britt Sutton and Charlie Ham; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ham Sutton of Eden; grandchildren, Stevie Ham of Pleasant Garden, Christa Sutton Brummett and husband, Keith of Archdale, Dana Sutton of Reidsville, and Jesse Sutton of Ohio; four great grandchildren, Lil Keith, Brittany, Cody and Taylor; great great grandchildren, Serenity and Josh as well as another great great grandchild on the way by Taylor in February; and sister, Wilma “Billie” Glenn of Lexington, NC and a large, loving extended family.
