Inez F. Smith

Reidsville, NC – Inez F. Smith, 100, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at Hospice House of Rockingham County. Inez F. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Fred D. Smith in 1980. They had been married for 56 years. She was the oldest member of Baptist Temple Church. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. George Fox officiating. Mrs. Smith was born in Rockingham County to the late, Joe and Mary Alice Faulkner. Other than her parents she was also preceded in death by six sisters, Alice Mae Smith, Mabel London, Helen Stone, Louise Brown, Ruby Baker, Nellie Faulkner; three brothers, Joe, Ed, and Woodrow Faulkner. Inez is survived by her three daughters, Mary Anne Freeman and husband Jack, Judy Land and husband Benny, both of Reidsville, and Nancy Knight and husband Jack of Hillsborough; four grandchildren, Rick Freeman of Raleigh, Tammy French, Vickie Hilderbrandt of Reidsville and Gina Mayo of Mebane; three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and brother, Rev. Melvin Faulkner of Knoxville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Since Inez had been living at Carolina House of Reidsville there will not be a home visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to a charity of their choice.
