Reidsville- Ira Paul Kubler, 74, of 2283 Wentworth Street, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Annie Penn Hospital.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. F. Nelson Stover officiating. Following the service military rites will be preformed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. A private committal service will be held a later time.Mr. Kubler was born in Denton, Maryland on April 12, 1937 to the late Fredrick and Nellie Samis Kubler. Prior to moving to Rockingham County, he retired from The United States Navy having served during the Vietnam Conflict. After his military service he was employed by Miller Brewing Company where he was an electrician and then later retired. Ira was a member of the Single Squares where he enjoyed square dancing and calling the dances. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Kubler; brother, Donald Kubler; sisters, Alice and Evelyn Kubler.Ira is survived by his loving family, sons, Paul Neil Kubler and wife, Terry, Fred Carroll Kubler and wife, Vicki; daughters, Cheryl Ann Whorrall and husband, Larry and Vickie Lynn Dee Kubler; Twelve grandchildren; Eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Kubler and wife, Mattie and Warren Kubler; sister, Roberta Dickerson and large extended family, including cousins, nieces and nephews. There will not be a formal visitation but the family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mr. Kubler to the Rockingham County Honor Guard, 242 Strutton Lane, Eden, 27288.
