Reidsville: Irene Tate Paynter, 99, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Gaylord Dix and Rev. Richard DeHart officiating. The burial will follow at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Paynter was a native of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late William and Martha Paschal Tate. She was a homemaker and a retired tobacco farmer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Paynter adored all animals, especially her beloved cat, Baby. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Paynter; son, William Keith Paynter; great grandson, Caleb Paynter and 16 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Marvin Paynter and wife, Earlene and Ted Paynter and wife, Nancy all of Reidsville; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a large extended family.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 6-8:00 P.M. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Marvin and Earlene’s home (973 Tate Road).
