Isabelle McCollum Tysor

Summerfield: Isabelle McCollum Tysor, 92, of 7187 NC Hwy 65, passed away May 12, 2014 at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Madison. A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 16 at Mt Bethel Evangelical Covenant Church with Rev. Olaf van de Klashorst and Rev. Charles Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Mrs. Tysor was a native of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Sam A. and Claudia Cummings McCollum. She was a lifelong resident of Summerfield and a faithful member of Mt. Bethel Evangelical Covenant Church. She worked as a cook for the Bethany School Cafeteria. Following her mother’s footsteps, she served many years as the Chairman of the Mt. Bethel Cemetery Committee. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. Tysor. She is survived by her church family at Mt. Bethel, her nieces and nephews and her God son, Gary Holland and wife, Sue of Flowery Branch, GA.
