Jack William Love

Reidsville – Jack William Love, 83, of 902 McCoy Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at his home.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. John Groff officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites.Mr. Love was born in Alamance County, NC to the late Charles Henry and Myrtle Batton Love. He was a veteran in the US Navy serving in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was retired from AT&T. Mr. Love was a faithful member of Baptist Temple Church and was in the Adult 1 Men 2 Sunday school class. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79 and the Rockingham County Honor Guard where he served as chaplain for a number of years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Garland Love and his sister, Kathleen Love Smith. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Basham Love of the home; his step son, Kenneth Martin of Reidsville, several nieces and nephews and his little dog, “Precious”.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.Memorial Contributions may be made to Baptist Temple Church, 729 Wentworth Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
