High Point, NC: Jackson T. Ramsaur Jr., 70Jackson T. Ramsaur Jr., 70, fondly known to friends and family as Jack or Jerry, was granted his angel wings on June 16th, 2010, with his family by his side in Greensboro, North Carolina. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Jack had touched in some small way throughout his very memorable life. A graveside service is planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 19th at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. His brother, Rev. Benjamin Ramsaur will lead the family in celebrating Jack’s life at the service. Jack was born August 18th, 1939 in Cherryville to Dr. Jackson T. Ramsaur Sr. and Lucille D. Ramsaur. His father, Dr. Ramsaur started the first free public health clinic in Gaston County. His mother Lucille, was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University who single-handily raised her three young sons after her husband’s untimely death. Jack developed a love of music and outdoor activities as a child. He learned to play piano and guitar by ear and was considered an accomplished musician. He attended Brevard College and was proud to be the first athlete to ever letter in Tennis. Jack continued his education at High Point College prior to beginning his eventual career in sales. Jack’s passions were family, fishing, gardening, hunting and camping. In his retirement years he was lovingly known to all as “Daddy Jack.” He was especially remembered for pet-napping his twin daughter’s family dogs. He nick named them “The Boys” and spoiled them with ice cream and frequent canine vacations. Mr. Ramsaur is survived by his brothers Dixon Ramsaur and Benjamin Ramsaur, and their spouses, his son Jackson T. Ramsaur, III and twin daughters Paige Ramsaur VanDerWoude and Ashley Ramsaur Lassiter and their respective spouses; and 6 grandchildren whom he cherished. Donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, North Carolina Wildlife, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.Wilkerson Funeral Home of Reidsville is in charge of the arrangements and will be assisting the family.
