Jack "Pete" Rumley
Stokesdale – Mr. Jack “Pete” Rumley, 74, of 8176 Flat Rock Road, Stokesdale, died Monday, January 28, 2013.
Mr. Rumley was born August 27, 1938, in Rockingham County to the late Richard Rumley and Peggy Price Rumley. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and a member of Maple Lawn Baptist Church. Mr. Rumley was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 27 years, Brenda Walker Rumley; his sister, Betty Lou Rumley Maness. He is survived by six children: Michael Rumley and wife, Amy; Craig Rumley and wife, Karen; Bryan Rumley and wife, Lisa; Lisa Welborn and husband, Randy; Jeff Rumley and wife, Tania; and Joel Rumley; three brothers Donald Rumley and wife, Margaret Ann; Bob Rumley and wife, Vickie; Richard “Bill” Rumley and wife, Sandra; grandchildren: Shannon and Colt, Josh and Courtney, Nick and Ryan, Justin, Chad, Bree, Logan and Justin; great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Ashton, Canyon, Elizabeth and Lane.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, at 11:00 AM in Flat Rock United Methodist Church, 6720 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357. Rev. Rick LeBaube and Rev. Crawford Bradshaw will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Lawn Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, and other times at the home.
