Reidsville – Jackie “Jack” E. Holley, 72, of 220 Gordon Street, died Sunday, February
8, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held
11:00 AM Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with
Wilbur Claridge and Steve Carter officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens
“Jack” was born in McDowell County, West Virginia
to Ira and Ernestine Boyles Holley and retired from the United States Marine
Corps with 20 years service, serving three tours in Vietnam. Working 20 years in retail
and 5 years in security, “Jack” was also a member of the (VFW) Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Rockingham County Honor Guard and served 2 ½ years with Volunteer
Services.
Survivors include his wife of 50
years, Anne Colley Holley of the home; children, Teresa Carroll and husband,
Joe of Thomasville; Wanda Morrissey and husband, David of Jamestown, Karen
Johnson and husband, Clay of Reidsville; grandchildren, Sara Drometer Swanson
and husband, Jon of Newport News, Va., Hugh Caleb Johnson of Reidsville, George
Drometer and Laura Drometer both of Jamestown and Jared Carroll of Thomasville;
sister, Joyce Davidson and husband, Curtis of West Palm Beach, Florida
The family will receive friends
at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM and other times at
the home.
