Jackie Knight

Jackie Knight, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Born on August 6, 1949, in Forsyth County, Jackie was known for her unwavering devotion to family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church located at 1605 Scalesville Rd, Summerfield, NC 27358, starting at 2:00 PM. Jackie will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, radiance, and the love she shared with those around her.

Jackie's life was filled with warmth; she would do anything for her family, always putting their needs ahead of her own. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Frank Knight, along with her two daughters, Kelly Newman(Matthew) and Dawn Newman(Robbie). Jackie took great pride in her role as a grandmother, nurturing her grandchildren, Paige Newman, Gabriel Newman(Kelsey), and Christian Newman with endless affection.

Her close-knit family extended beyond her immediate household. She is survived by her sister, Patsy Hayes McManus(Roger), and her brothers, Jefferey Hayes and Rondal Jurney(Judy). Jackie was also surrounded by a large circle of friends, nieces, and nephews who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hayes and Elizabeth Hayes, as well as her grandmother, Winnie Jurney, grandfather, Houston Jurney; paternal grandparents, Moody and Ola Mae Hayes; and her grandson, Christian Newman.

Jackie's passions were evident in the way she lived her life. She cherished the time spent with her family, particularly at the beach, where laughter and joy were abundant. A social individual, she loved conversing with friends and stayed active through her fondness for water aerobics at the Y.

Her memory will continue to reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
