James Paul Billingsley

James Paul Billingsley, 87, passed away on February 2, 2023. James was born on August 22, 1935, in Reidsville, NC. He was the first child of Agnes and James Ezra Billingsley. James P Billingsley served 3 years in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. James met the love of his life, Lois Amanda Jane Markham in Pensacola, FL. while she was giving him dance lessons at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio. It was a match made in heaven, and they were married on April 15, 1960. They were inseparable for over 60 years before Amanda passed away on August 22, 2020. James worked for RCA, the City of Reidsville Water Dept. and was an early entrepreneur with his own TV repair business. He was known as Buck or JP to his friends and family. J.P. and Amanda had two children, James P Billingsley Jr (Sam), and Tracy Lynn Holland. J.P. was a brother, husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed math, electronics and learning and working with computers. His passion was being with his wife, Amanda. J.P. is survived by sisters, Marie Smith; Mary A. Cooper; brother, W. Pat Billingsley (Kay Billingsley); son, James P. (Sam) Billingsley Jr (Tammy Billingsley); daughter, Tracy L. Holland (Keith Holland); granddaughter, Jennifer L. Billingsley; grandson, Jaxton Ezra Holland. As per JP’s request, the immediate family will gather at a later date for a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Research in James and Amanda Billingsley’s name.
