James Dewey “J.D.” Williams, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Curis of Reidsville (formerly Avante).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and the interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at Arlene’s home (419 Narrow Gauge Road).
J.D. was a native of Rockingham County and was raised by the late Jess and Grace Payne. He served in the US ARMY during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an electrician, a carpenter and later retired from UNCG’s maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time tinkering on old cars and trucks. J.D. loved his time with family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his half brothers, Bobby and Marshall Williams.
J.D. was survived by his daughter, Arlene Loye and husband, Dennis of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Stephanie Loye, Jessica Belcher and husband, Jason and D.J. Loye and wife, Andrea; great grandchildren, Jonah, Easton, Joshua and Janagrace; his sister, Molly Grant of Blanch, NC; his half sister, Rosie Harrell; his half brother, Frank Williams and a large extended family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and staff at Curis of Reidsville for the loving care giving to J.D. over the last year.
