Brown Summit – James “Jim” Lee Hodgin, 75, of 271 Big Oak Trail, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Wesley Long Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Lee’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Brown Summit with Rev. Carol Gilbert and Rev. Bill Bullard officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.Mr. Hodgin was born in Rockingham County to the late James R. and Mary Myrtle May Hodgin. He served as a veteran in the Army National Guard. Jim was formerly employed with Hearn Lincoln Mercury in Wilmington, NC where he did body work on automobiles. He loved restoring antique cars. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cleveland Hodgin.Jim is survived by his sons, Ronald “Ron” Hodgin of Brown Summit, NC and Michael Hodgin and wife, Elizabeth of White Oak, NC; his daughter, Dianne Grein and husband, Richard of High Point, NC; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, William Hodgin and wife, Shirley of McLeansville, NC, Joe Hodgin and wife, Mary Ann of Reidsville, NC; sisters, Mary Catherine Wells and husband, Ralph of Greensboro, NC and Margaret Hudgins and husband, Doug of Summerfield, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
