James Monroe Hutchins

James Monroe Hutchins, born on December 24, 1947, departed this life on March 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories. A beloved figure to many, James had a profound impact on his family and friends throughout his life.

James’s visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, located at 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC, 27320. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cherry Grove Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Danny Sartin. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his son, David Hutchins and wife Sue; his daughter, Lisa Hutchins(Joe); and his cherished grandchildren: Jessica Hutchins, Tiffany Walker, Matthew Hutchins, and Emily Walker(Chad). James was also a proud great-grandfather to Makena, Makaleigh, Marilyn and Athena, who will remember him fondly for the love he bestowed upon them. James is also survived by his brothers, Lonnie and Kenny Hutchins; and sister Anne Scott.

In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hutchins; and sister, Betsy Frick.

An avid fisherman and a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time at the beach and enjoyed the excitement of western movies, passions that brought him great happiness and relaxation.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. James Monroe Hutchins will be profoundly missed yet forever remembered.
