Reidsville – James Irvin Ray, 80, of 603 Wentworth Street, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Rockingham Co. Hospice Home.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 4th at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Mickey Alcorn and Pastor Junior Kennon officiating.
Mr. Ray was born on December 18, 1932 to Harry B. Ray and Grace Coe Ray. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Dan River Mills.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ruth Ray; daughter, Sharon Ray and fiance, Dale Chrismon; sons, Ronald Ray, Billy and Danny James; grandsons, Joshua Ray and Petty Officer Sean James and wife, Courtney of Jacksonville, FL; great granddaughters, Jayla Ray and Braelynn James; brother, Boyd Ray.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
