REIDSVILLE- James “Toucan” Isley, 54, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, September 29th, 2017.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at three o’clock in Growing Oaks Community Church, located at 7921 US Highway 158, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320. The family will greet friends following the service.
James was born on November 28th, 1962 in Rockingham County to the late Clifton Blaine and Earleen Burroughs Isley. He graduated from Reidsville Senior High School in 1981. James was a retired heating and air conditioning mechanic, where his co-workers nicknamed him, Toucan. He loved the Lord and his family. Toucan enjoyed Formula One racing, the Carolina Tarheels, Miami Dolphins and spending time in his yard by the bonfire or riding his John Deere.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Melanie K. Isley; his children, Allison Isley, Jonathan and Colin Knight, Kelli and Christopher Isley; eight grandchildren; one sister, Teresa Isley; one niece and two great-nephews.
Toucan’s family would like to offer special thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County, “his second wife,” Jodi McPherson, for being there for him and the many others who helped during this time.
