James Robert "Bobby" Jones, Sr.

James Robert “Bobby” Jones, Sr.74, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Alcorn officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

The family will see friends on Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Bobby was born in Rockingham County to the late James Franklin and Minnie Snyder Jones and was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and baseball, teaching his sons how to play and showing them his famous knuckleball. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan. Being active in his community, he never met a stranger. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie Jones and Mike Jones.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years Angie Stadler Jones; sons Jimmy Jones and wife Caroline, Kevin Jones and wife Deidra; grandchildren Clay Jones, McKensey Jones, Brody Jones and Chase Cummings; special friends Bobby and Brenda Loftis and family and Tommy and Ann Bray along with many friends and neighbors in the Monroeton Community.
The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Mohamed, Diane, and staff for the exceptional care given to Bobby over the years.
