James Willie "Roundman" Lewis

James Willie “Roundman” Lewis, 65, of Reidsville went home to be with his Lord and family on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

His celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with his friend and Pastor Tommy Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

James was born August 26, 1955 to the late Willie Ray Lewis and Mildred Cook Lewis. He was greeted in heaven by his dad, mom and brothers Jimmy Ray Lewis and Roger Allen Lewis and a sister, he is meeting for the first time.

James loved NASCAR and dirt track racing, it didn’t matter. He was an Earnhardt fan and had many of his collectibles. He was also a Dallas Cowboys fan all his life. He always enjoyed pulling for the UNC Tarheels during the tournaments. James loved people and never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and joking around with people. He was always ready to start up a ROOK game and he and his partner would win every time. James loved the outdoors, sitting on his porch, mowing, and planting flowers. He enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers and sisters in Christ at Penn Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member. He could not always attend because of health issues but he loved to call and talk with the members.

He will be truly missed by his friends and family especially his wife of 40 years, Cindy Pruitt Lewis, nephews, Eddie Lewis, who was like a son and Rodney Lewis; nieces, Angel Joyce, Jennifer Lovings and Elisabeth Pruitt; special nephew, Nicklaus Duncan; in-laws, Christine Lewis, Angela Kallam, Virginia Bailey, Barbara Pruitt and Rick Duncan; God son and great nephew, Joshua Lewis and great nephews, Jacob Hunt, Matthew Lovings, Christian Pruitt; great nieces, Kristy Lewis and Alyssa Pruitt; several great great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 21st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
