James Duke Lovings

James Duke Lovings, 91, of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Tom Hazelwood officiating. In lieu of a formal visitation you may come by Wilkerson Funeral Home individually to pay your respects on Monday, August 30th from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

James was born on a farm in Rockingham County to the late James Newton Lovings and Pearl Duke Lovings. He served his country in the US Army and retired from the US Postal Service. Along the way he also owned a store and traded cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Lovings.

He is survived by his children, James Rider and Sherry Fahnestock; grandchildren, Jessica, Laurren and Finley; great grandchildren, Cameron, Carmen, William, Walker and Lilly; and close cousin, Charles Buford Lovings and wife, Valerie, and their children, Charles, Kim, Andrew (and his children, Andrea and Jacob).
