Reidsville –James Floyd Martin, 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Heath Lloyd officiating. Mr. Martin was born August 6, 1935 to the late Charlie Bernard and Sadie Martin Martin. He was of the Baptist faith. Floyd retired after 20 years of service from the Wysong Company and then enjoyed being a carpenter. He was teased by his friends and family as an average golfer. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming the land. Besides being a loved person by his friends he loved his family very deeply. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers and sister, Billy, William, Jackie, Charlie Martin and Frances Ann Martin and brother-in-law, Vernon Canady. He is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie Martin of the home; sons, Daryl Martin and wife, Cheryl of Reidsville and Andy Martin and wife, Sharon of Wilson; grandchildren, Josh, Drew, Meagan and Tyler Martin; step-grandchildren, Corey Bissette, Lindsey and Ethan Alcorn; brother, Bobby Martin and wife, Frances of Reidsville; sister, Jane Knight of Reidsville; sister-in-law, Mildred Elizabeth Pryor; brother-in-laws, Ross and Ronald Canady; nieces, Carolyn Pryor and Scarlet McGee and husband, Eddie; nephew, Stephen Martin; great nephew, Dale Colbert; niece-in-law, Cathy Ebert and nephew-in-laws, James and Tim Canady. There will not be a formal visitation. The family will receive friends other times at the home, 1571 Narrow Gauge Road. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Floyd’s honor to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375
