Madison: James Burrell McLemore, 72, of 599 NC 704, died on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. On this date his faith was made sight with his Lord, Jesus Christ. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. Aaron Withrow officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 PM prior to the service. He was born in Lyman , SC to the late Marion and Agnes Poole McLemore. He was a car enthusiast, an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He served in the US Marine Corps for seven years and retired from MCI where he worked in sales. He was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, James Burrell McLemore, II, Jerry McLemore, Jamie Welch; two brothers, two sisters and a great-grandchild, Trinity Elizabeth Holbert. James is survived by his sons, Steven McLemore and wife, Lisa of Asheville, Jeffrey Allen McLemore and wife, Susie of Madison, Roger Dale McLemore and wife, Beth of Acworth, GA, James Shey McLemore and Jason Welch; daughter, Bonnie Fleiss and husband, Glen of Atlanta, GA; brother, Leon McLemore and wife, Joy of Greer, SC; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He fought a long battle with acute Leukemia and fought like the Marine he was and died as a Christian warrior that he is. He fought the good fight and finished his course and has entered the presence of his Lord. His desire is for others to join Him.
