James Melvin Moore

Reidsville - James "Jim" Melvin Moore, 88, of 2302 Iron Works Road, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at his home.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Brown officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.Mr. Moore was born in Rockingham County to the late Johnson Worley Moore Sr. and Orpha Knight Moore. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and a retiree of Love Tractor Sales. As a member of Sharon Baptist Church he was a former choir member, deacon, Sunday school teacher and trustee. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Juanita C. Moore; sons, Mike Moore and wife, Tammy and Randy Moore; grandchildren, J.T. Moore and wife, Leslie and Dustin Moore and wife, Amanda; great grandson, J.D.
