REIDSVILLE: James “Bill” Worth Moore, 80, of 2320 S. Scales Street died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Alcorn and Rev. Bill McKinney officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Bill was born June 4, 1930 to the late John Cecil and Elizabeth Sutton Moore. He was retired form Dan River Mills in Danville, VA where he worked as an electrician for many years; was a Veteran of the US Army in the 5th Calvary during the Korean Conflict and attended Bible Baptist Church and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. He spent his time reading his Bible, tinkering around the house; he was a very loving and giving person, father and husband. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert “Rabbit” Moore, Penn Moore, Tommy Moore, Howard Moore and Woodrow “Woody” Moore; sisters, Mabel Moore Crouse and Arlena Moore Blankenship.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Virginia “Peggy” Carter Moore of the home; sons, Toby Moore and wife, Angie of Dry Fork, VA, Bryon Moore and wife, Melissa, of Greensboro and Donion Moore of Greensboro; daughters, Robin Miller and husband, Keith of Madison, Vicki Rogers and husband, Dean of Reidsville; grandchildren, Michael and Matt Smith, Kelsie and Kaleb Moore, Shaneise, Ciara and Maia Moore, Gunnar Rogers, April Rakestraw and Renee Powe; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Moore and wife, Peggy and Cecil Moore and wife, Carrie.; sisters, Doris Manring, Betty Dyson and Elsie London and husband, Paul.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. At other times, they will be at the residence.
