Reidsville: James "J.W." William Moricle, 86, of 195 McCoy Road, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Annie Penn Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Faith Christian Church with Rev. Cleveland Duke, Rev. Mark Harris and Rev. Charles Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. J.W. was born in Rockingham County to the late Mullen and Carrie Lee Echols Moricle. He was a member of Faith Christian Church, sang in the choir and was a Deacon and Elder. He was known for his gardening and having a beautiful yard and was retired from American Tobacco as a machine operator. He enjoyed being with friends at Reid's House every morning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annie Hall, Louise Cook, Pauline Woodall and brother, Mullen Moricle.Survivors are wife of 62 years, Helen Webb Moricle; brothers, M.C. Moricle and Howard Moricle; sisters, Charlotte Baker, Ella Mae Carter and Betty Gray Hagwood; God children, Lisa Rakestraw, Jim Webb and wife, Cheryl and their children, Jordan, John and Julian; and special friend, Mason Paschal.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, September 16, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Christian Church, 2407 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320.`
