Brown Summit: Rev. James Michael Payne, 71, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Shelton officiating. The interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents William Thomas Payne and Doris Gentry Payne. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Lily “Jo” Payne; children, Tracy Forbes (Wade), Michael Payne; sisters, Elaine Burgess (John), Melissa Lowman (Tommy) and grandson, Preston Forbes.
