James Maryland Perkins

Reidsville: James Maryland Perkins, 85, of 342 Narrow Gauge Road died on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Caswell House. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 21, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev.Bill McKinney and Rev. Fred Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. James was born in Caswell County to the late Jimmy Perkins and Sarah Smithey Perkins. He retired from Cone Mills and was a minister. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, singing and playing any stringed instrument.. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Raymond Perkins. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stanley Perkins of the Brian Center in Yanceyville; sons, Larry Perkins and wife, Kaye of Burgaw, NC, Daniel Perkins and wife, Deborah; daughter, Linda Rickman, all of Reidsville; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter; brothers, Ralph, J.C. and Roy Perkins; sisters, Sadie Lynch, Rachel Lewis and Nancy Odell. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, February 20th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
