Greensboro: James Edward Taylor, 57, of Greensboro NC, went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2010.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Reidlawn Cemetery.
James was born in Rockingham County to the late Roy Alvis Taylor, Jr. and Lessie Hardy Taylor. He was a Vietnam era US Army Veteran serving in Germany, Texas and Louisiana. James worked as a car salesman with Van York in High Point and Rice Toyota in Greensboro, he was an avid golfer, loved his country, his work and his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Hardy and paternal grandparents, Roy and Sarah Taylor.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy Taylor; aunts, Bobbye McAlister, Mary Sue Hardy, Shirley Soyars; uncles, Donald, Charlie and Edward Taylor; numerous cousins; very special friends at Maple Leaf Golf Club and J. P. Looney’s.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
James family is very grateful to Dr. Sherrill and his staff for giving James two quality years of life after he was diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer. Memorial contributions may be made to Moses Cone Cancer Center or charity of ones choice.
