James Lee “Jim” Williams, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church on Hwy 158 East with Pastors Ron Tuck and Ryan Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will see friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
James Lee was born in Rockingham County and completed the family, joining his parents, the late William Lawson Williams and Mary Frances Wright Williams, sisters, Frances Moore and Hallie Neal, brothers, Lester, Bennie, Harry, Alvis, Charlie and Willard. He was a former operator of Pat Brady Amoco Service Station and was a retiree of Lorillard Tobacco Company with 28 years of service. As a faithful member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church for 65 years, he served as a former Sunday School superintendent and deacon. He also enjoyed his special seat on the back row where he would greet his church family, friends and visitors.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Shirley Harris Williams; daughter, Cheryl Williams Tudor and husband, Glenn; niece, Judy Neal and many other loving family members.
